Fauquier County AOSE Soil & Site Evaluation (Perc Test) to Permit Replacement Drainfield Construction
In April 2017, we undertook a project in The Plains, Virginia, tasked with locating a suitable replacement site for the aged and deteriorating components of a septic system.
Our comprehensive soil evaluation, mandated by Virginia state law, involved assessing various factors including the depth to root-limiting restrictions, water table levels, presence of paralithic/lithic bedrock, soil horizons, texture, color, and any fill material. Additionally, our site evaluation aimed to identify a location for the new system that met the required setbacks from wells, cisterns, springs, ponds, and other water bodies, in compliance with Chapter 17 of the Fauquier County Ordinances.
Upon completing the evaluation, we proceeded to develop conventional design plans, working closely with our client to obtain the necessary Septic System Repair Permit from the Virginia Department of Health. Following the installation of the new system, we conducted thorough inspections to ensure compliance with all sewage handling and disposal regulations.
Finally, an AOSE report and As-Built Drawing were submitted to the Virginia Department of Health to secure an Operation’s Permit, marking the successful completion of the project.
