Fauquier County Soil Evaluation For Replacement Of Failed Drainfield
In January 2016, we tackled a project located in The Plains, where a 1960’s drainfield was no longer functioning correctly. After a thorough assessment, it became clear that the drainfield had to be replaced.
We conducted a site and soil evaluation, which showed that the area was suitable for a new 3-bedroom conventional drainfield. Our plan met all the necessary septic regulations set forth by the state and Fauquier County Chapter 17. We navigated several challenges during this process, including maintaining the required horizontal separation distances from a developed spring and water well. Our examination of the soil looked at several factors, such as the depth to rock, soil texture and structure, color, and percolation rate.
This project was a great example of overcoming environmental and regulatory hurdles to achieve a successful outcome.
