Septic Systems | Percing Land in Warren County, Virginia

Recently, we ventured into the Howellsville area of Warren County, Virginia, to conduct a soil evaluation, commonly known as a perc test. The region’s mountainous landscape presented a unique challenge in locating a suitable site for a three-bedroom conventional drainfield. After a thorough search, we identified a 35’ x 120’ strip of soil that perfectly met both local and state requirements for the primary drainfield location.

In addition to the primary site, we also outlined a 100% reserve area. This reserve area is a precautionary measure, not immediately necessary for installation but designed to satisfy environmental health department guidelines in case the primary drainfield ever encounters issues.

The next step in our process involves receiving the drainfield location plat from our surveyor. Once in hand, we’ll proceed to submit our comprehensive AOSE / OSE soils and design packet to the local health department. This submission is crucial for obtaining the septic construction permit required to move forward with our project.

Stay tuned for more updates as we navigate through these essential preliminary steps, ensuring a seamless and environmentally compliant development process.
